Senior Scholars' Series: The Passions That Drive Academic Life -
Physicist by training, atmospheric scientist by vocation, environmentalist by inclination, Douw Steyn describes the research on sea breezes that led to his development of universal scaling laws for sea breeze depth and strength.
He will explain how this knowledge of sea breeze structure enabled a modelling of ozone pollution in the Lower Fraser Valley that has informed air pollution management strategies in the region and also taken him into consultancy and public advocacy work. -
