Possible Worlds: Fireside Conversations on Literature, Science and the Arts
  •
  • Gary Geddes, returning Writer in Residence at Green College, has published over forty-five volumes of poetry and creative non-fiction. The title poem of his latest poetry collection, The Resumption of Play (2016), received the 2015 Malahat Review Long Poem prize for its evocation of the trauma produced by Canada’s Indian Residential Schools. A launch event for his new book Medicine Unbundled: A Journey through the Minefields of Indigenous Health Care (2017) will take place at Sty-Wet-Tan Hall, First Nations Longhouse, 1985 West Mall on Wednesday, February 15 at 12 noon.

Elder Joan Morris (Songhees) survived the Kuper Island Residential School and the Nanaimo Indian Hospital. She is a prominent spokesperson for victims of the segregated hospital system.

She and Gary will discuss issues of common concern, and he will read from his work.
