In this talk we will visually explore the vast scales of life and a selection of research questions that can be asked at each biological scale. Why did dinosaurs become birds? How do we use animals to study human disease? When can a single immune cell tell friend from foe? How do drugs interact with the body? Starting at the community, species and population level, then moving down to the organismal, tissue, cellular, and molecular levels, we will narrate a journey traveling through time and space, showcasing the vast magnitudes of existence. Come prepared to stretch your perceptions of how life works!
