Green College Special Event -
In this Green College Special Event, former Resident Member Rodney Stehr will briefly reflect on the first year of programming for College's podcast Patchworks. In particular, he will discuss his experience of working with his co-hosts Patara McKeen and Jane Willsie, and how the interview process helped him understand the different ways that we can think about how we tell stories about resistance and dreaming, and what this might mean for the future lives of this and other podcasts at Green College. Audio clips of various interviews will be shared to help illustrate some of Rodney’s experiences.
This informal event is an end-of-year celebration for Patchworks and an invitation to the Green College community to consider new ways of using the podcast format to tell stories that challenge the status quo and create space for diverse ways of expression.
Patchworks is a podcast run by a group of Resident Members at Green College and is meant to amplify stories of IBPoC resistance, organizing and dreaming by emerging and established Vancouver-based and international scholars, activists and community organizers.
Rodney Stehr is a former Resident Member of Green College (2019-22) whose interdisciplinary master's research focused on the mental health experiences of queer youth navigating COVID-19.
Rodney started the Patchworks podcast alongside former Resident Members (and current Green College Society Members) Patara McKeen and Jane Willsie.
