Space has long been a region of extensive international cooperation, as epitomized by the International Space Station. In this special event from our Green College/Outer Space Institute video series on Humanity’s Expansion into Outer Space, UBC political scientist and international lawyer Michael Byers speaks with Dr. Jan Wörner, the Director General of the European Space Agency, about the challenges and opportunities presented by international cooperation in Space. From science missions to Mercury and Mars to a spacecraft designed to clean up space debris in Earth orbit, the European Space Agency and its 22 member states constitute a powerful and positive force in outer space. -
