Dining with Decorum: A Sensual Fireside Chat with AI on Sex

How well can AI platforms (like ChatGPT) answer your most invigorating and intriguing sexual inquiries? The relevance of AI generative platforms to addressing our most pressing questions is navigating many disciplines. However, when we encounter questions about sex, there are legal and platform regulations that limit the substance of responses or even warrant a response at all. This fireside chat dances with the practices of "decorum" on what types of questions or terminology can be asked about sex and sexual health on generative AI platforms, assessing how well (or not) topics like party'n'play, kinks, sexual coercion, and more are approached. Such a discussion elucidates the role of in-person or human contact for certain questions and situations, emphasizing public health practitioners' continued role in sexual health programming and interventions.

Evan Hall (they/them) is an emerging HIV scholar with years of experience as an advocate, researcher, policy maker, and participant at the local, state/provincial, national, and international level. Their time as an HIV/STI test counselor in Michigan, running a culturally competent and trauma informed free testing program, has established themselves as a relevant voice to implementing testing services. Evan enjoys bassoon-playing, running, and traveling.
