  • Patrick Taylor

Dr. Taylor grew up in Bangor, Northern Ireland. He qualified as a physician in 1964, obstetrician/gynaecologist in 1969, and immigrated to Canada in 1970 to begin a career in research into the treatment of infertility. He retired in 2001 as Professor Emeritus, UBC because in 1997 his first work of fiction, a collection of short stories was published and he wished to pursue a writing career. Since then two thrillers, a collection of anecdotes and an E-novella, and nine books in the Irish Country Doctor series have appeared. Six have been New York Times and all nine Globe and Mail bestsellers. The tenth book will be released in October 2015. The eleventh is in production for 2016.
