John V. Clyne Lectures at Green College: The Future of University Study—Ideas in Dialogue
  •
  • Online learning and digital literacy threaten the traditions of face-to-face learning. The fragmentation of the social world challenges us to find rigorous ways of connecting across plural spheres, and there is no single truth that can unite us. Two ideas—unity and discord—can guide thinking about the task of the university. The lecture will conclude with reflections on new possibilities for commentary and shared online small publics.
