During a 10 year period, the New York Times used the word 'sublime' in relation to 'dance' in over 300 reviews. Despite this, scholarly works about the sublime and dance are incredibly scarce. To help fill in this void, this talk gives a brief overview of Ian Heckman’s bold new theory about how dance may evoke the sublime.
