Indigenous Peoples have deep knowledge and close cultural connections to the night sky. In this feature event from the Green College/Outer Space Institute video series on Humanity's Expansion into Outer Space, UBC astronomer Aaron Boley speaks with Jennifer Howse from the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory at the University of Calgary about the Blackfoot First Nation's knowledge and connections to the night sky of Southern Alberta. Joining them in conversation are two experts in the effects of light pollution on wildlife and humans: Maureen Luchsinger and Laura Griffen from the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area in Foothills, Alberta.
